Travel Thursday: Vancouver, Winter's Best Destination

After a full year of limited traveling, we are entering another year of staying in one place. We are certain you miss taking a flight and travel to your favorite countries and cities. This year in 2021, let’s embark on a Virtual Traveling every Thursday together, we will choose some of our favorite locations around the world and share with you what you might miss in those places.

To start off, we travel to Vancouver, Canada, our first location is known for their cold winters but warm people. Canadians are friendly and polite, and in Vancouver, everyone will feel welcomed. Vancouver’s close proximity to Alpine peaks makes it the perfect destination for a getaway, a place that brings together the cultural and culinary highlights of the city, with easy access to snowy outdoor adventure.

Whistler Mountain

Compared to the rest of Canada, Vancouver has a milder temperature during wintertime, but it is a great place for winter sports rightfully so, as it is the host for 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Ski and snowboard events were held on WhistlerMountain and Cypress Mountain, two mountains that ski lovers must visit.

Besides the nature, Vancouver’s city is always vibrant and fun to visit. Vancouver arguably began in the heart of what is now a trendy neighborhood called Gastown, named after a historical figure known as “Gassy Jack” or John Deighton, a Canadian bar owner who was born in Hull, England. Once Canada’s third largest city, Gastown in 1867 was the site of various lumber mills, Gastown is now home to chic loft apartments, European eateries, cocktail lounges and flashy boutiques.

Another thing Canadians are known for is their passion for hockey. While hockey fans will get a thrill out of the game, you don’t really need to know anything about hockey to have fun at a Canucks game. The atmosphere of the game will make you fit right in. The National Hockey League (NHL) regular season runs from early October to early April, and they could continue to play into the late spring, if they make the playoffs.

For those who love Vancouver as much as we do and is interested to look for a real estate investment opportunity there, as a foreign buyer you might be overwhelmed by the overall complexity of the process of real estate investment in Canada. Since you are obliged to abide by the multiple real estate laws and processes, when you hire a service from a reliable real estate investment agency, you can look forward to making a profitable real estate investment.

When it comes to owning a property in British Columbia as a non-resident, there are no restrictions. The only requirement is that while buying a property in Canada, you are required to provide in writing that all your transactions are clear and specifically mentioned in the respective books of records. The best real estate investment as a foreigner is by ensuring that you have proper finances to manage the investment effectively.
